It starts with a hello.

That’s all it takes. Honest.

Hello and welcome! I’m Kim and I am an integrative Art Psychotherapist with a private practice in Glasgow and online.

I help children, young people, and adults explore their thoughts and feelings through art therapy.

P.S. You don’t need to be good at art.

My aim is to provide a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space for you to discuss and express whatever is on your mind. I work with individuals and groups in both short and long-term therapy in person and online. So you can choose what feels best for you.

I have worked with children, young people and adults who have experienced the following:

Stress

Anxiety

Identity

Self Harm

Bullying

Complex Trauma

Loss + Bereavement

Physical Disabilities

Depression + Low Mood

Relationship Difficulties

Confidence + Self-Esteem

Chronic Health Conditions

Art Therapy is an effective therapy for all ages. You definitely don’t have to be good at art or have any previous experience to receive Art Therapy.

If you are interested in working with me, just get in touch. We’ll start by having a free 20 minute chat that can be over the phone or by video link, to discuss what you’re looking to get support with, and also whether I’m the right therapist for your needs.

What is Art Therapy?

Art Therapy or Art Psychotherapy provides a time and space for a person to explore their problems or conflicts in a safe environment, in the presence of an Art Therapist, like me.

Art therapy can provide an additional way to explore and feel our way through, it can hold parts of our experiences that cannot be put into words.

The art making can be used as a means of non-verbal communication to express thoughts, feelings and concerns. This means you don’t have to talk about things you don’t want to.

The importance lies in the process of art making, not in the ability of the individual to create a masterpiece! So you don’t have to be good at art or have any previous art making experience to receive Art Therapy.

You will make art and talk (which may be done at the same time) or you can make art in silence if that’s what you would like.

When we make art, I have a wide range of art materials you can experiment with from paint, pastels or clay, or you might want to make a collage.

How can we work together?

Individual Art Therapy

I currently offer individual sessions at my studio in Glasgow or online. I work with adults, young people, and children. Individual art therapy sessions are an opportunity to explore, reflect and work through feelings and thoughts using a mix of creative interventions and psychotherapeutic approaches.  Sessions take place weekly or fortnightly at an agreed time and last for 50 minutes.  The location will be either in my studio in Glasgow or online via Zoom and can also be a blend of the two.

The first step is to arrange an initial consultation, to discuss reasons for seeking therapy, hopes from therapy, fees and frequency of sessions and to see if art therapy is right for you.

Art Therapy In Organisations

With over 12 years experience offering individual and group art therapy sessions in schools, not-for-profit organisations and public sector bodies, I can provide tailored, art therapy services to organisations who feel that the people they work with would benefit from therapeutic support.

If you or your organisation are interested in learning more about the services I offer then let’s organise a chat to discuss how I could best support your organisation.

Creative Consultancy

With several years experience leading consultations on strategic planning and policy initiatives with young people, communities, third sector organisations and government bodies my primary focus is to enhance organisational decision making,

I offer creative consultancy to help and support organisations to create opportunities for people to be heard and play a leading role in creating strategic change.  I work with children and young people, and the wider community in collaboration with organisations to explore how they can do things differently to inform processes, policies and research.  If you’re  looking to find out more about how we could work together, then let’s organise a chat.

Creative Art Workshops

Are you looking for a workshop for a group of friends, an organisation, or a corporate team? I can create customised in-person or virtual workshops that incorporate therapeutic arts based activities to meet your specific needs (individual or workplace), workshops that explore various topics of interest using a creative approach such as community or team building, developing an art-based self-care practice, or just having some space to explore different art mediums.

Please contact me directly through the contact page and we can explore the creative possibilities together.

While the creative art workshops may help to improve self-care practices and ignite creativity, they are not intended as a therapy group.
